This is the second part of a Hortonworks Hadoop Data Platform installation and configuration tutorial. This section provides the steps necessary to install HDP 2.x as well as HDP 3.x releases and assumes the pre-requisite configuration is done.
- Install mysql java connector
- yum install -y mysql-connector-java
- Install Ambari Server
- yum install ambari-server
- Setup Ambari Server
- ambari-server setup
- Customize user account for ambari-server daemon y/n?
- y
- Enter user account for ambari-server daemon (root):
- root
- Select JDK version
- Enable Ambari Server to download and install GPL Licensed LZO packages y/n?
- y
- Create ambari database in mysql database
- mysql -u root -p < /var/lib/ambari-server/resources/Ambari-DDL-MySQL-CREATE.sql
- Grant “root” user permission on ambari database
- Configure database
- Configure mysql java connector
- ambari-server setup –jdbc-db=mysql –jdbc-driver=/usr/share/java/mysql-connector-java.jar
- Install Ambari agent
- yum install ambari-agent
- Start Ambari Server
- ambari-server start
- Start Ambari Agent
- ambari-agent start
Install Ambari Agent on all cluster nodes
Once the ambari agent is installed on all cluster nodes, configure the agent configuration file (/etc/ambari-agent/conf/ambari-agent.ini) to reflect the host name to the ambari server & restart the agent.
